Where this started
If you run an Instagram account with any real following, you know how it goes. You post something, the comments roll in, people ask for links, want pricing, have questions. And by the time you get around to answering, a lot of them have already moved on.
We started building AutomateYourDM in 2024 because we kept running into this exact problem ourselves. Not from the outside looking in, but from actually running accounts and watching potential customers slip away because we could not reply fast enough. Doing it manually does not scale, and hiring someone to handle your DMs introduces its own problems around tone and trust.
So we built something that sits on top of Meta's official APIs (the Graph API and Instagram Messaging API) and handles those interactions for you. Not with generic copy-paste responses, but with AI that actually reads the conversation, follows your rules, and sounds like you wrote it.
That is still what we do. The product has grown since then. Story replies, mention detection, follow-gating, multi-step DM funnels, lead capture. But the core idea has not changed: your content already does the hard work of getting attention. We make sure that attention actually goes somewhere.
What the platform does

Comment to DM Automation
Someone comments a keyword on your post, say "LINK" or "PRICE", and we reply publicly and send them a DM with whatever you want. A link, a file, a promo code. Works on individual posts or across your entire account.
Story Reply Triggers
You post a story saying "Reply GUIDE to get the PDF." When someone types that word, they get the resource in their DMs automatically. It turns stories into a lead capture tool.
Story Mention Responses
When someone tags your account in their story, we detect it and send them a thank-you DM on your behalf. No setup per story. Just turn it on and every mention gets a warm, instant response.
Follow Gating
You can lock your automated DMs behind a follow. If someone triggers a keyword but hasn't followed you yet, we ask them to follow first. Once they do, the content unlocks right away.
Multi-Step DM Flows
Build branching conversations triggered by a keyword. Collect emails, phone numbers, route people down different paths based on their replies. Entire sales funnels that run inside Instagram DMs.
AI-Powered Conversations
For ongoing DM conversations, our AI reads the context and responds naturally, not with canned templates. You train it on your brand voice and it handles the back-and-forth while sounding like you.
Leads and Analytics
Every lead captured through your flows is stored and visible in your dashboard. See who came in, what they said, which keywords they triggered, and track how your automations are performing over time.
A few things worth knowing
We use Meta's official APIs. No scraping, no browser automation, nothing that puts your account at risk. Everything runs through Instagram's own ecosystem, the same APIs that Meta provides to verified technology partners.
You stay in control. The AI handles the repetitive stuff like sending links and answering common questions. But you set the rules, you pick the triggers, and you decide what gets automated and what does not.
